R190 SATELLITE PHONE
|
The ACeS Satellite is providing Satellite coverage in Asia, including China and India. These unique dual mode satellite phones operate in both GSM900 network and AceS Satellite network (note: dual mode only available in post-paid subscription, GSM mode is not available in pre-paid package).
The satellite phone needs to have a clear view to the sky (outdoors) in order to transmit / receive from the Satellite. If the antenna has a clear sky facing East 123 degrees, the reception will increase tremendously.
The Sim card is pre-activated: the phone will be activated upon first call made. The Sim card is pre-loaded with 50 units (US$50), it carries a 180 days' expiry time frame (from first call made).
There are in-coming calls receiving charges (US$0.35/min) while receiving in-coming calls via Satellite. For outgoing call charge, please refer to ACeS airtime rates provided below.

| Turn On the phone |
- If you have disabled the Sim Card Lock, you may enable it by accessing to the 'ACCESS' manual.
- The phone will request for PIN, the default Sim pin is '1234', please key in accordingly.
- Press YES will then unlock the phone
- Every Sim card comes with a PUK (Pin Unblock Key). If the Pin is keyed in wrongly for three times in succession, the phone will be blocked.
- If the phone is blocked, you will see PIN block / Unblock?
- To unblock the phone, key in YES.
- Enter your PUK code.
- After the phone is unblocked, you need to key in a new 4 - 8 digits Pin, the old Pin cannot be reused.
- Re-enter the New Pin code to confirm it and press YES.

GSM and Satellite Setting
|
- Press --> (in between YES and NO Key) key to go into the manual, you shall be able to see Mail on the phone screen. Press --> until you see Networks
- Press YES
- Press --> until you see SYSTEM MODE
- Select Satellite Only
- Press YES
- You shall be able to see Stored, and the screen will go back to Networks.
- Press one time NO
- When you see Set up complete? Press YES
- Now the phone is in GSM Preferred, it will search for GSM first and if it cannot find any GSM network available, it will go ahead to search for Satellite Network. Please be informed that when you search for GSM, you may see a list of GSM networks in the phone list, but not all GSM networks will work with ACeS. Select from those network shown Available.

Outgoing Calls and Incoming Calls
|
- To make outgoing calls from R190 handset, just dial 00, followed by country code, area code (if any), telephone number and press YES
For example, call from R190 to Singapore: 00 65 XXXXXXXX press YES - Calling to the ACeS Satellite phone from any land line, mobile phone, please dial international prefix: 00 or + (it may be different from country to country) 63 98 325 xxxx.

- Go to Network
- Go to Search Opt
- Go to One Search
- Go to Spot Beam
- Press Yes
- Enter the Spot Beam number that serves your location.
