Tip to Maximise Signal Strength
You can maximise the signal strength for your communications by pointing the antenna towards the satellite in the sky. Ensure there is no blockage (buildings, mountains, trees etc.) between your antenna and the satellite. The location of the satellite is dependent on where you are. Use the attached map and/or table to determine your approximate location and which way to point your antenna.
What you need to do are as follows:
- Find where you are on the map.
- The direction to the satellite is the direction from where you are to the red dot on the map.
- The circle in which you are in represents the spotbeam. You may use this number to help the R190 camp on the spotbeam. Please consult your R190 Manual/User Guide for manual camping on the spotbeam.
- The large concentric circles which intersect the cross with cardinal points, represent the elevation angles. These are the angles from the horizon (0 degrees) to directly above your head (90 degrees). To help you estimate the angles, you may use the boxed guide below.
Examples: - If you are in Bangkok, then the satellite is in the South East direction, with an elevation angle of about 60 degrees from the horizon.
- If you are in Jakarta, then the satellite is in the North East direction with an elevation angle of about 68 degrees from the horizon.
