A. Tuvalu Ship Registry Authorised Surveyors
The Registry has authorised a wide network of independent professional surveyors world-wide with competitive fees. The authorised surveyors will conduct surveys on Tuvalu ships for issuance of statutory certificates by the Registry. The owner should notify the Registrar of his ship's itinerary and the most convenient port for the survey to be carried out. The Registrar will make the necessary arrangements and notify the owner of the fees.

B. Authorised Classification Societies
The following classification societies have been appointed to carry out statutory surveys and issue international convention certificates on behalf of the Tuvalu Ship Registry.
- American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)
- Bureau Veritas (BV)
- China Classification Society (CCS)
- Det Norske Veritas (DNV)
- Germanischer Lloyd (GL)
- Hellenic Register of Shipping (HRS)
- International Ship Classification (ISClass)
- Korean Register of Shipping (KRS)
- Lloyd's Register (LR)
- Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (NK)
- Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS)
These societies have proven track records in terms of classifying ships whose Port State detention rates are very low, and therefore, they have the full confidence of the Tuvalu Ship Registry. Their activities include performing audits and issuing certification under the International Safety Management (ISM) Code and the International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) Code.
Note: Other classification societies may be authorised on a case-by-case basis.
